Like a Stone...

on a cobweb afternoon
in a room full of emptiness
by a freeway i confess
i was lost in the pages
of a book full of death
reading how we'll die alone
and if we're good we'll lay to rest
anywhere we want to go
in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i'll wait for you there
like a stone i'll wait for you there
alone
on my deathbed i will pray
to the gods and the angels
like a pagan to anyone
who will take me to heaven
to a place i call
i was there so long ago
the sky was bruised
the wine was bled
and there you led me on
in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i'll wait for you there
like a stone i'll wait for you there
alone
and on i read
until the day was gone
and i sat in regret
of all the things i've done
for all that i've blessed
and all that i've wronged
in dreams until my death
i will wander on
These words seem to reverbrate through me whenever i find myself staring at the pitch black darkness which keeps screaming out my name to take the plunge into the unknown called the afterlife. For every man/woman, there is an anchor which ties him to life and the other urge governed by the prinicple of least action.
And somehow this song fills me up with emotions, for things i yearn for. Right now am like a ship with no mast and anchor, maybe am just ship looking out for the shores forever but before i find the shores i hit some reefs and sink down, maybe there aint no shore for this ship of mine, people who have been marooned know the feeling of loneliness, the urge to talk about stuff. Well not many people would have been marooned not since people put themselves in Tom Hanks shoes in castaway.
Every human is an island, self sufficient in his own right, but somehow he doesn't wanna be an island he wants to be a part of a bigger landmass, one where he has more options and not everything is to be done all alone. Today in this society's very fabric, very few people are fortunate to be part of this fabric, the rest are islands in their own respect, some of their own choice like mine and others cause of their insecurities.
This makes one ( me ) raise the question as to why certain people against their own will become these islands, why is that some people manage it really hard to find anchor for their ship or find a fellow crew mate as to where they want the ship to be steered to, and just revel in their company and vice versa there gotta be something inherently wrong somewhere in the big picture, is usually what mine or anybody else's guess might be, the other one which looks more enticing to stick to being these people maybe just too finicky and deserve a better mantle to be put on than what is readily available.
I think it is true that exceptional people must be treated exceptionaly, the normal rules of the society shouldn't be imposed on them and the same goes for the choices they are gonna make, it may seem weird, it may seem stupid but then again, exceptional is not something which the normal human tends to understand and comprehend so why take such hostilty and aleinate them from the social fabric.
And i realise am talking my head off... =p anyway think i will come back again to do some more verbal crap... =p

dude ...it is kind of ironic ... that i am the only guy who's writing comments for such decent work! honestly u write gud stuff mate ! i am sure the world will notice one day .... ;) ... but remember the point of writing blogs is not to get noticed... never ever write populist blogs that are written to only get more 'hits' ... those are the hyprocritical kind off blogs which i detest totally .... ur kind off stuff i can relate to more and i am sure there's no sham or duplicity involved !

FAQs

I have no idea why, not that I am complaining but there is huge surge in the number of people who are now reading my blog. And this has been bought (or is it brought, will never really get the difference between the two) to my attention by the slew of comments, by different people, a majority of them complete strangers. And I always have the same old standard questions which keep cropping every single time whenever I see an anon comment. So just like every other great idea of mine, which seem to glow like those bulbs which I first saw in Archie comics (mostly around Dilton's head, guess that is his name, the nerdy guy, don't really remember it so well, read that when I was in 4 th grade or something, my favorite was Moose), and the idea stuck that why don't I get these questions out of my system, whether they get answered or not is totally different issue. Though I understand that the reason why people chose to be anonymous is either they are famous and want common mortals...

Open Letter to the Chennai Male Engineering Students

Hello you-male-incumbent-potential-future-ignorant-regressive-khap-policy-makers, Before I begin, let me first clarify as to why I intend this letter to be both open and specific to Chennai Male Engineering college students. It is open because you lot are, as they say in English, idiots! I am also slightly inebriated at the moment, as they say in Tamil, I am in full mabbu. The only reason, I am making this post specific to Chennai Male Engineering students, because unfortunately I did my engineering in the city of Chennai. This maybe largely generalized in content and scathingly rhetoric in nature. I don’t expect you to comprehend most of things I embark on saying. Consider this to be a very Aamir Khan starring Mangal Pandey where a lone warrior foolishly wages war when the rest of his unit is smart enough to CYA* (Cover Your Ass). I am well aware of this survival instinct which is prevalent in you lot, I have been at the receiving end of it on many an occasion with my own batch...

Awesomeness Inc.

It has been a L O N G time since I have been this excited and proud to own something. The last time it was the Zippo and before that it was my first pair of Nike. Anyway... Ladies and Gentlemen. Hold your breathe and your pee, because I present to you 8 posters of awesomeness. Duly bought and framed and to be hung as a badge of snobbery. My personal favorite as you would by now be knowing is Rocky. After the infamous calling my hostel mate gay night of 2nd Jan, 2003, where I lost my Rocky IV poster, I believe this more than makes up for it. I also absolutely love the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Now the real problem is that these posters are mighty huge and I am not sure which posters are going in which room. But those are just details at the moment. For the time being, I am getting me knob polished by the awesome light being reflected off these beauties...
